Wedding & Pageant Tutus

I am very excited about the launching of the new Tutu Fantasy Wedding & Pageant Tutus. It is like a baby to me and all the designers. We have spent quite a lot of time just to create and fine-tune each of these gorgeous tutus to make sure they are all unique, adorable, and comfortable to wear. I am very very impressed by the result.

The photo shoot day for these tutus was a lot of fun as well. Just look at our little models Rachel, Jayden and Kara bouncing and running around with those beautiful dresses, and how they couldn't wait to try them on, I know we did a great job!

Thank you Jason and Courtney, our photographers, for taking those beautiful photos of the tutus. Most importantly, I want to thank Michelle, Peggy and April for created the most beautiful tutus on earth!

My Love At First Sight Tutu

Call me silly but I love bows, I love bows on shoes, on clothings, on hair ... anything with a bow on it I will fell in love with it instantly. Now you can image my happiness when I come across this new tutu. So colorful and whimsical, just the right amount of bows to place it on top of my list of favorite :)

I HATE these people!!!

I have no choice but to deactivate my guestbook in my store, because it is so badly spammed by some stupid advertisements, most of them don't even make sense to me, but a lot of them are selling Viagra and other unknown medication. I could easily receive 10 of these entries everyday and is absolutely driving me nuts! I wonder the people who spam other's guestbooks is really getting business by doing so??? Why they have to be so annoying?

Here Come the Princesses

My 4 years old daughter LOVES the Disney Princesses, so does most of her girl friends from preschool. They are obssessed by Snow White, Belle, Cinderella .... EVERYTHING, I mean EVERTHING, need to have princesses on it: princess shirt, princess shoes, princess cups, princess dixie cups, princess crayons ... EVERYTHING!

To satisfy these little princess wanna-be, our genius tutu designer have created a fantastic line of Princess Tutus, all inspired by the "idols" of your little girl(s). So this summer, they can sit on their princess lounge chair, drink their apple juice from their princess cup, with their princess sunglasses and princess tutu on!

Thank You All

I know, I am really bad at updating this blog! I have been so busy with everything lately and almost forget that I actually have a blog.

I need to express my sincere thanks to 5minutesformom.com, the rainbow tutu contest was super fun!!! Also I need to thank all the blogger moms for sending their "link love" from their blogs to Tutu Fantasy. It means a lot to us to know that our tutus are well-loved, and all our hard work wasn't wasted.

Funny Book!

I love going to bookstores, you can always find me inside one of the Barnes & Noble around town. Today when I am cruising B&N again, I found this funny book "The Museum of Kitschy Stitches: A Gallery of Notorious Knits", I can't help laughing so loud when I was flipping over the pages in the bookstore, people must think I am a crazy woman!
I am a crocheter, been crocheting for years and this is still my favorite pass time (if only i have spare time to pass these day ...). Before I even know how to crochet, I was a knitter. My mom taught me to knit since I was a teenager, never really like knitting but my mom is a very talented knitter. I remember laughing at her old knit pattern books from the 60s to 70s, those notorious knitting designs were so ugly you almost can see the painful facial expressions from the models who were modeling those knitted products. Finally, here is this wonderful book dedicated to all those "designer knits", from knitted ski masks to knitted ties, you can almost find all the "greatest knit designs" for the past decades. My favorite is the "knitted hamburger pillow set" ... man, you got to see it to believe it.
If you want your guy to leave you, try knit him a tie and force him to put it on on valentine's day!

About starting a blog ...

OK, seems like everybody has a blog these day, I even saw blog for a dog or a new born baby. Ever since my online store open to business, EVERYONE is telling me I need to have a blog. I am reluctant because I am not good at writing, but it really seems like a good idea to reach out to my friends, other moms, my customers, and business partners with a blog, so here is the blog ...

Where to start? I think I would like to introduce myself. I am Heidi, the business owner of tutufantasy.com. I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful 3 years old girl. We live in Seattle, yes, the beautiful pacific northwest. I live a super busy life, but is enjoying every bit of it.

I was born and grow up in Hong Kong. I have my first 26 years of my life in this tiny over-crowed city located in Asia. For some reason, a lot of Asian parents believe that besides attending school, their children MUST learn something else. The most popular choices are piano, violin, drawing or ballet (it HAS to be ballet!), and my mom always think that I need to learn to be more lady like, and so ballet it is for me!

I took ballet classes since I was a little girl. Hong Kong in that era was still a British Coloney, for ballet schools, they follow the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) cirriculum. RAD has very straight rules for student attires, for example, the color and style of leotards and tights we could wear in ballet classes all has a set of rules, and students don't have much of a choice on that. Usually the approved attire were the most conservative, simple pink/blue or black color leotards.

For all those day, how I wish I can wear a beautiful dance dress or a tutu! But NOPE! Unless we were in a recital, we were stucked with those boring dancewear.

When I thinking to start a new online business, I been debating where to start. Then, I came across one of the cutest thing in this world - baby with a tutu!!! I was searching ebay aimlessly one day and I saw this photo of a cute baby with a tutu, i told myself i got myself a business idea.

Tutu Fantasy is not only "a little girl's dream come true", it is MY dream come true. I LOVE beautiful dancewear and tutus, and I LOVE babies!!

I am enjoying every bit of my business right now, it bring joy to me and my customers. What else is more important than that?
